The Jersey Shore

As readers of this blog know, I've lived on the Jersey Shore my entire life. This is one of my favorite seasons for visiting the beach. During the summer months, we have large crowds of visitors and our beaches are quite a sight with all the colorful umbrellas and beach towels. But this time of year, the beach is mostly deserted except for the sea gulls, the sand pipers and a few fishermen. I've taken a few days off from work and it was a beautiful day so I decided to go down to the beach for a walk. Here are some photos of the Belmar beach and Avon-By-The-Sea beach and the bridge between the two towns.

No sea glass finds this time but I did find some interesting shells, including this fascinating piece.

How lucky you are to live along the shore! When I moved to New Jersey a few years ago, I was so excited to be so close to good beaches and I try to go as much as possible during the summer. Welcome to EtsyNJ!

how pretty! I love that long sea grass and the wood plank walk way. What a fun photo opportunity! It doesnt' look like you get much shells on your beach..it looks pretty smooth sanded out there. We don't get a lot here either..they get caught in the reef. But you can snorkle and find them pretty good.

I also live by the Jersey Shore. I walk Belmar boards about 3x a week and also now walk across the bridge. Love it! I also design jewelry and have a website. Do you sell at any craft shows? Ocean Grove, Belmar, Brielle?

I was at the Ocean Grove Craft Show last year and the Manasquan one, Claire. But I haven't done any yet this year. I just took a look at your website. You do great work! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.
