Newest custom sea glass ring

I received an order for a custom sea glass wire wrap ring after my last post here about my sea glass jewelry. The customer saw my blog posting here and asked for something to match her personality, which she described to me as being a fast paced, free spirit, living life like there's no tomorrow. I designed this big, bold, bright ring for her and she loved it!

It's Sum-Sum-Summertime! Time for Sea Glass!

While sea glass jewelry is wonderful to wear year round, it's during those warm, lazy summer months when it's especially nice. My website has a full line of authentic wire wrapped sea glass jewelry. All of my jewelry is designed from authentic sea glass found on the Jersey Shore. Such as the brown sea glass wire wrapped pendant shown above. And the green sea glass wire crochet ankle bracelet shown below.

I still have several wire crochet sea glass necklaces, such as the one below. These necklaces can be lengthened or shortened according to your preference - just let me know when ordering.

I also carry sea glass rings and I can custom design a ring for you in your size and almost any color sea glass you wish for.

And of course, there are the earrings! Check out what I have on my website and again, I can always custom design a pair for you in the color sea glass that you want. The second pair of earrings shown below also have capiz shell in their design. I have always loved capiz shell!

Though I did just say that all of my sea glass jewelry is designed with Jersey Shore sea glass, there is this one particular piece that doesn't fit that statement. The sea glass in this bracelet was sent to me by a friend from Maui, Hawaii.

So stop by my website and check out all of my sea glass designs and decide which you really must, must have!

The wonder of sea glass

I realized today that whenever I talk about Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry, I usually mention the broken china work that I do. And lately the Waterford crystal pieces I've added. But I haven't talked about my sea glass jewelry in quite some time and since warmer days will soon be on their way, I thought I devote a blog to sea glass.

I think the intrigue of sea glass is that, when you find a glittering piece on the shore, you can only imagine the places that piece of glass has been to. Tossed into the sea, the glass was swept along on tides, rolled with the waves, nudged by the fish, gently rubbed on the sand and was rollercoasted during storms. For years and years, sometimes as many as 50 - 70 years or more, the glass was broken down into smaller pieces and those pieces were worn and smoothed and shaped by the ocean and sand. And then the ocean gave it to you to find on the shore.

True authentic sea glass has a beautiful frosted sheen. It's become harder to find these days when more containers and bottles are made from plastic than glass. But if you're diligent and have a good eye, you can still find these jewels on beaches. Most of the sea glass found in stores and online today is tumbled sea glass, which is artificially created in tumbling machines. All of the sea glass jewelry shown on this page are designed from authentic sea glass found of the shores of New Jersey. And all of these pieces are available on my website at www.marjoriescracked.com.
