Manasquan Craft/Antique Show

The Manasquan Craft/Antique Show in Manasquan, NJ couldn't have taken place on a more beautiful day! Sunny skies and a nice cool breeze. Sometimes too much of a nice cool breeze though! The vendors spent most of the day holding on to their displays. I thought at one point my umbrella and I were going to end up in Kansas!

It was a very small show but lots of fun. I like to take any opportunity I can to talk about my jewelry to those who are interested! Here are a few photos taken before the show opened to the public.

Here's me holding onto my hat!

And here are some of my displays. I tried to make unique type of displays that would be eye catching. Here's my birdcage display. I just found a larger birdcage to use for the next show that will hold more jewelry.

I also included some dolls as models.

And some shells to display my sea glass pieces.

This was my first appearance at a craft show. They're a lot of work but a lot of fun too! I'm looking forward to the next one on August 31 in Ocean Grove, NJ.

Birdcage for jewelry display

I found a fabulous little ornamental birdcage today that I'm hoping to use in my jewelry display in upcoming craft shows. Another garage sale find! Even has a little pink bird in it. My first thought was that I would drape jewelry around the outside of it. But I'm not sure if the jewelry will show up well on it. It might show up better if I painted the cage white. I'll have to find some pretty flowers to use on it and take out what's in there. If it doesn't do well as a jewelry display, I can still use it on the table to pretty things up.

I love it! Doesn't it have great possibilities? Let me know if you have any ideas for it. Sometimes creating a display for your jewelry can be even more challenging than creating the jewelry itself!

My cracked plate jewelry sign!!

I had asked my daughter (she's truly the artistic one in the family) to work up a sign for me to use when and if I take my jewelry to craft shows.  I don't know how she found time to do it between her full time job as a real estate paralegal and her college courses, but there was a knock on my door tonight and there she was with the finished sign.  And I love it!  It's cracked - just like my jewelry!  Because of the sea glass I've now included in my work (and I think because she loves the ocean so much!), she created a mosaic-like scene of the ocean crashing on rocks.  It's wild - it's funky - and it's sure to catch people's eye.  Now I have even more incentive to get cracking and make arrangements to take my jewelry to a craft show.

Thank you, Rebecca Elizabeth!!
