This year's garden

Gardening is one of the most rewarding pleasures I've found in this life. The beauty of flowers never ceases to enthrall me. Here are some of my favorite photos from this year's garden.

It's been raining so much here in New Jersey both during the month of May and now again during the month of June. April showers may bring May flowers but this much rain is a bit worrisome for gardeners. Bulbs can rot and the flowers are not lasting as long from all the wetness. And the forecast for the next ten days is more of the same. We drastically need some sunny days to dry things out a bit. I have a few of my potted plants sitting under the picnic table to keep them out of the worst of the rain. And it's much too cold for this time of year. Here's looking forward to some warmer, sunnier weather soon!

P.S. I just learned that Matt, the CEO of 1000 Markets, has posted this gardening post on the Community page of 1000 Markets. Quite an honor, that is! Thank you, Matt! Check it out - will probably only be there for a day or two.

Ohhhhh those are pretty. I've been yearning for a vegetable garden for myself but I"m useless in that area. Really wish I knew someone who could get me started.
Those pictures are just wonderful!

Dear Marjorie !!!! Your usual success with many, many gorgeous flowers! What a whiz!!! The good news on my gardening -- only happens with Doris's help, of course -- is that a whole lot of seeds & some bulbs we've planted all around the house are coming up and growing so quickly! I can look out of my window here by the computer and see on big pot full of huge leaves that will turn into watermelons! Isn't that wild? Hope the ones I transplanted to a couple of other pots will forestall the squirrels digging everything up. Have some zucchini doing well in another big pot out in front, and some sprouts for herbs -- 'dill weed, tarragon, basil, and I don't really remember what else. Lots of spinach! Love spinach! Can you eat spinach? Lots of flowers, hollyhocks and zinnias, and some sweet peas and pink poppies. And some fancy gourds! Got a bunch of seeds mixed up together when I dropped my seed box one day while planting. A Roll-Your-Own Guessing Game Garden. So much fun to look out of the windows each day and see what's shown up or shot up more overnight! Have one huge yellow Lily that is tall and blooming it's little heart out! What a joy! Ain't nature grand? And fortunately, rather irrepressible. Just want to say to ChezChani, go buy some pots, potting soil, and seeds, and enjoy! Formal gardens aren't my thing, and Marjorie is SOoooo inspirational! Get Going, honey! Love, Cyn
