Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry - Broken China Jewelry

Welcome to Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry Blog. I design broken china jewelry and I hope to to meet other jewelers here to chat about our ideas.

Many people have inquired as to how broken china jewelry is designed. First the plate is broken into pieces (hate that part!), then filed smooth (I do that by hand with a file which gives me more control over the shape). Then two coats of varnish are applied to the broken edges. Most designers then wrap their china shard with solder, but I prefer wire wrapping mine.

I also crochet wire into necklaces and bracelets.
